Our History

A Legacy of Faith

This congregation began in September of 1951 when some Christians began meeting in homes in Cranford. They later moved into a building located at 600 Springfield Avenue Christadelphian church currently meets.

The Echo Lake Church of Christ has met at its current location since the late sixties. The congregation consists of about 70 members, from a variety of backgrounds.

We are diverse in age, race, socio-economic group and nation of origin. Some members live in Westfield and the surrounding communities, but others are from as far away as Newark and Carteret. Jesus is the one who binds us together.

At Echo Lake Church of Christ, we strive to be simply Christians-nothing more and nothing less. We believe in the authority of Jesus Christ and that God’s will is revealed through the Bible. Our mission is to grow as a Christ-centered church community by studying God’s Word, worshiping together, and living out His teachings each day. We believe that loving God and loving our neighbors are the foundation of the Christian faith, and we are passionate about sharing the message of Jesus Christ, His love, and the hope found through the Cross.
