Why have you forsaken me
In Matthew 27:46, Jesus cried out from the cross, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” These words were spoken after hours of suffering. Jesus had been betrayed, mocked, beaten, and crucified.

“Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering…” (Isaiah 53:4)
Isaiah does not describe Jesus watching from a distance. He says Jesus took up our pain and bore our suffering. That means He stepped into what weighs us down. He carried what we could not carry.
